2012-01-11 [Lord Josmar]: Its pretty good and if tou like it you should read Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer in preparation for the movie.

2012-01-11 [Kestrelfeather]: The entire Ender's Game series and anything by Octavia Butler, especially the Xenogenesis trilogy :)

2012-01-11 [Avaz]: I know the author of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer. :3 He's a cool cat.

2012-01-11 [Lord Josmar]: Unless I am mistaken he is the same person who did the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies books.

You should also read the Bartimaeus Trilogy.

2012-01-11 [Avaz]: Correct.

2012-01-11 [Cillamoon]: Thanks Mel for letting me leave my various references here, I hope you do get more time to read on your hands! :) And I hope you get to read one or two of these also. :)))

Garth Nix (author): Sabriel (along with related books for this series, I forget the series name that it turned into, but it didn't start out as a series)
Harry Turtledove (author) - Into The Darkness
C.S. Friedman (author) - The Coldfire Trilogy (love it sooooo much!!!)

2012-01-11 [Cillamoon]: Oh! Maureen O'Hara's biography: Tis Herself

2012-01-11 [Viking]: I second The Coldfire Trilogy. Excellent books!

2012-01-11 [Cillamoon]: Awesome!!! I've only met two others that have read the series, and I LOOOOOVE them! Even own them, and that's saying something there. I hardly own unless I love them.

2012-01-11 [Lord Josmar]: Oh! Also the First Law Trilogy, but only if you are not adverse to violence, swearing, and sometimes sex.

And The Demonata Series by the same guy who wrote the Cirque Du Freak series, but only if you are not adverse to gross amounts of violence and gore...and I mean gross amounts in lovely detail.

2012-01-12 [Nioniel]: You guys are awesome. ^^ I'll add stuff later, but thank you for all the suggestions.

@Cilla; the first book you suggested came in for me today, so I'll start reading tomorrow. :3

@Jos; not a fan of violence and gore. >_>

2012-01-12 [Lord Josmar]: Peh, what kind of book reader doesn't like a bit of violence?

2012-01-12 [Nioniel]: A bit is different than "gross amounts in lovely detail."

2012-01-12 [Lord Josmar]: Lolz. Yea, it caught me off guard first time I read it.

2012-01-12 [Nioniel]: Thanks Shanny. <3

2012-01-12 [Thrice]: Most welcome.

2012-01-16 [Ariana's Veil]: Lolita- by Vladimir Nabokov. Absolutely amazing book.

2012-01-17 [Nioniel]: Pretty, pretty please don't recommend books that are a part of a series, unless you're recommending the entire series. :3 I just finished reading Polgara, not knowing that it was the end of a whole saga, and as a result, the book didn't make much sense as a stand-alone book, and I was very confused throughout as it kept referencing people, places, and things from previous books in the series. I just don't like panning books that are part of a saga or whatever as stand-alone books, because it's really not fair if it's supposed to be part of a larger story. :P

But keep the suggestions coming, please! I'll add some of the ones already suggested to the top as soon as I get the motivation to go find the images. :P

2012-01-17 [Avaz]: My suggestions are books 1 and 2 of a trilogy, but the third book isn't even written yet. Does that count? As it stands, these two books are all there are.

2012-01-17 [Nioniel]: Nah, that's fine. I just don't want to read a book that's at the end or middle of a series, or else have a whole nine book series to read. That's more what I meant. I'm starting "The Name of the Wind" today. :)

2012-01-17 [Ravendust]: I'll say this- the bishop series that I suggested aren't necessarily connected except for the last 3 books, so you could, say, read them out of order and not be totally confused in the process if it came down to it! xD
